The first, from 2016, looks back at the icon’s loves. From her first love, Roger Vadim, who discovered and married her at the age of 18, to her famous lovers, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Gilbert Bécaud, Sami Frey and Serge Gainsbourg, the documentary traces the sentimental journey of one of the most beautiful women in the world, through unpublished archive images, family films and rare testimonies. The second documentary focused on her commitment to animals through an exclusive conversation with her. While Bardot is remembered as the ultimate sex symbol of the 1960s, she was most successful in associating her name with animal rights. A passion that become a vocation since the beginning of the 1970s when, in 1973, she became the spokesperson for the SPA (société protectrice des animaux) and launched appeals in favour of abandoned dogs. A few years later, an image that had become emblematic was seen all over the world: that of Brigitte Bardot taking care of a seal in Canada, where hunting was becoming increasingly fierce. Little by little, the actress abandoned her image as a femme fatale to devote herself entirely to this cause. This resulted in the creation of the Brigitte-Bardot Foundation, created in 1986, which fights against animal abuse.
